Flowers, flowers and more flowers….

I love flowers. I love the way they smell. I love the way they look. Just everything about them. I also love to receive flowers and even wear flowers. I really think that if you want to put an instant smile on a woman's face all you have to do is giver her flowers. That is unless you are really deep in the dog house then it may take a little more. But still an arrangement of flowers should do … [Read more...]

Summer Home Security Tips

The summer months are nearly upon us, and that means a number of seasonal changes. Typically, the weather warms up, and people start spending a bit more time outside. This is of course fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable, but it also brings a few small concerns with it. For example, with the open and relaxed attitude and lifestyle that tend to accompany summer, home security often becomes an … [Read more...]

Downtown Hoedown 2012

This past weekend we went to the annual Downtown Hoedown in Lufkin, Texas and despite living in the area forever we had never went before. I wish we had because the kids had fun and it was a lot of fun to look at everything. There was live music, a car show, vendor booths selling food and different items and activities for the kids. Here are a few of the things we did while we were … [Read more...]

Kids and mowing the yard

I can't really recall when I started doing things like helping mow the yard and stuff along those lines when I was a kid. And I was not really sure when I was going to either let my kids help or ask their help with doing yard work. It was mostly a question of when would I think they were old enough and truthfully I could not come up with an answer of when I would be ready to allow them. I think a … [Read more...]

They were not too old to hunt eggs this year

I posed the question on Facebook last week on what age is too old to hunt Easter eggs. Of course the consensus was pretty much when they told me they are too old. Which my 9 and 10 year old boys insisted that they were not too old yet. So of course they hunted eggs with their cousins. So we spent our Easter hunting eggs, eating candy, having a nice dinner and eating MORE candy. It was a … [Read more...]

Egg Decorating 2012

So Hal and I performed our yearly ritual of dyeing and decorating eggs for Easter. Sadly though Wes didn't want to help, I guess he thinks he is too old now. That does make me sad and just lets me that as well as nearly being as tall as I am that he is growing up. Pretty soon Hal will say he is too old too and I will be decorating and dying eggs all alone on Easter. But for now I will enjoy the … [Read more...]

How creative is my boy? Lego Guitar

My 9-year-old son is my creative child, he is always drawing something, making something or designing something with his Legos. And because I am such a proud mom I wanted to share this awesome photo of a guitar he made of his Legos. I love how he loves to build things and put stuff together. He was inspired to make this because he had played Guitar Hero and he thought it would be fun to make … [Read more...]

What’s on the menu?

A lot of different things go into planning a wedding. Things that people who have never planned a wedding or been involved in wedding planning would never think of. We all think of the regular things like dresses and where to have the wedding but there are other things such as the reception and food. And with food and the reception even come wedding menu cards so that guests can see what is being … [Read more...]
