One of the events my family and I usually look forward to is Comicpalooza. We love to visit the George R. Brown Convention Center every year to see all of the exhibitor booths and check out all of the celebrity talent that is usually there. It’s really fun and the look on my kids faces every year when they see one of their favorite celebrities is priceless. One of the other things I look forward to when I attend is Houston Roller Derby being there. I play roller derby with a smaller league and we don’t always get to play all of the games that a league like HRD does. So last year when I planned our yearly trip to Comicpalooza I was excited to see that they were having exhibition mash-up games the whole weekend. And I was able to sign up and play in one.
This was a picture of the group from the mash-up I played in, I’m the one in the silver helmet. So this year I look forward to a lot of the same and can’t wait to play with some new and familiar faces. My kids will also probably being playing Quidditch in the room while I derby. Because Comicpalooza has all kind of awesome nerdy goodness going on at the same time.
Comicpalooza is the weekend of June 17-19, 2016 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. It is going to be a lot of fun and you can get tickets here.
