I’ve used the bag of real bacon pieces before. It’s a short cut, and really no difference. I use this recipe for a lot of our family gatherings. It’s requested. Add the soy sauce to taste. As well as the garlic powder and brown sugar. Just so you have them to your liking. I follow it as above. It’s great for my family. But then, we live in the south. Louisiana to be exact. We love all them flavors! Hope your family enjoys it too!

  2. What do you do with the 1/4 cup melted butter?

This recipe was not good. Made for Christmas. No one really “liked” it.
I ended up throwing the majority of it out.
In my opinion the soy sauce ruined it. It just had too much of a tangy bite and did not compliment the green beans or bacon. I followed the directions exactly. I will not make again. Very disappointed.

  6. Tried this and was a hit at Christmas! Making tomorrow but forgot I needed cooked bacon….if I put in the bacon uncooked…do you think it will work ok? Just short on time so thought I’d get opinions on that…thanks!
